This years Warpstock event will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania at
the Wyndham Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel, October 6-9, 2005.
Besides a number of OS/2 and eComStaion related presentations and
cl*****, there are so far two REXX sessions scheduled.
PRG-02 : May the Parse be with you
The Rexx Parse function is a unique and powerful feature of the Rexx
language capable of analyzing data of all types. The Signal/Call On
functions provide you with a means of invoking routines to handle
various expected and unexpected conditions. This is your chance to
become more familiar with these facilities and bring up any questions
concerning Rexx that you might have.
Intended Audience: Anyone desiring to learn more about basic Rexx
functions.

Speaker Info: Chip Davis has over 40 years of programming experience
in various low-level and high-level languages. He has used the Rexx
language since 1980 and has written several major applications in
Rexx, including a VM/CMS emulator for AIX. He is active in the Rexx,
Linux, and OS/2 computer users groups in the Research Triangle Park,
NC, and currently serves as President of the Rexx Language
Association.
Travel Agency Accounting using Mesa2 with REXX Scripts
Originally done by hand on paper these spreadsheets started in DOS
Lotus 123 and were ****ted to SuperCalc5 and eventually Mesa2.
Salesbook and Cashbook (for a travel agency) have gradually evolved
over eighteen years as the business grew. This session will show an
integrated collection of spreadsheets that are structured to meet the
requirement of Canadian and Ontario legal and tax re****ting
requirements. Sup****ting dual, Canadian and American currencies these
sheets rely heavily on Mesa2 scripts to ease the process of
maintaining accounts and commissions receivable. Session attendees
will be demonstrated the use of primary and secondary data entry,
script creation and execution, and how to create formulas across
multiple sheets to track expense accounts monthly and yearly.
A CDROM will be distributed with notes, sample MESA2.M2 files and a
demo version of MESA2.
Intended Audience: General OS/2 user interested in improving their
power with MESA2.

Speaker Info: Edgar Scrutton (BA York'66) (MA Windsor 78) has retired
from 32 years of teaching Guidance, Special Ed, Reading, Math,
Computers, and Family Studies at General Amherst High School. He now
'works for his wife' as IT expert and bookkeeper- accountant at
Allison's Travel Agency in Windsor, Ontario. He has used OS/2 since
2.0 and programs in Basic, Turing, C++ and Rexx. OS/2 is the server of
choice at Allison's.
