Let me introduce myself. I am Al Lively, a doctorial student at
Northcentral
University, an accredited, web-based, educational institution, offering a
variety of academic programs for learners around the world.
This is a request for participation in doctorial research that will
explore
employees' perceptions of how the Ada programming language contributes to
their organization's software quality.
The software crisis has plagued industrialized nations for decades and
continues at an accelerated rate. Societies' successes in mitigating the
effects of poor software quality have been elusive.
My hypothesis is that the Ada programming language provides features that
directly, or indirectly, contribute to the development of quality software
applications. To test this hypothesis, and if found true, to determine how
the language's features are used to contribute to software quality, I need
the participation of an organization that develops software applications
using the Ada programming language. Participation in the research will be
minimal, but the researcher will need to interview the IT manager (CIO),
software project managers, Ada software developers, and, if available,
software quality assurance specialists. Since a doctorial student with
limited economic means will conduct this research, compensation cannot be
offered to participants.
I have followed the progress of the Ada programming language for decades,
and have noted many claims of the language's quality. My objective is to
conduct a descriptive, qualitative study that will determine if, and if
so,
how, the Ada programming language contributed to one organization's
software
quality experiences.
For business applications that require quality software to drive
im****tant,
or critical, business functions, this study is expected to provide
executive
and technical leaders with a rich description of the Ada language features
that contribute to software quality, thereby offering decision makers a
more
informed basis for their programming language selections. Society can ill
afford to continue its reliance on poor software products, especially
where
safety, security, and continued business existence depends so much of the
reliable, correct functioning of today's software applications.
To accomplish this im****tant research, your participation is needed. Your
organization has the op****tunity to participate in a worthwhile pursuit
and
describe your experiences (good and bad) with the Ada programming
language.
Please help.
