There used to be and I believe there still are analog computers which
use analog signals and various analog circuitry or mechanics to do
what our regular digital computers do today.

But as far as I understand those kinds of computers are pretty
unreliable, bulky and consume more energy for the same kind of
workload than the digital ones. In some areas they may still have
uses, though.

You surely can implement the CPU's ALU using some analogue circuitry,
add waves and currents/voltages /forces/pressure in various ways, but
I believe that's very ***bersome.
